Took off for a downtown K-Town ride. Rolled around Downtown, Old City, the Warehouse District, Ft. Sanders, then on Campus and down to the waterfront. Took the bike path over the James White Parkway bridge and on to Ijams Nature Center. Before that, I stopped by a downed tree to look for turtles and fish. Instead, I saw a 3 foot snake come up from the depths to gulp some air and back down it went. Had a nice lunch of an energy bar and water. Then it was of to the end of the line in the Nature Refuge. A couple single track branched off from the end, but I figured I didn't want any ticks hitching a ride. I just rode back. It was so hot and humid it was like trying to breathe underwater. Took some shots for the south side and the JFG sign. Shot some kudzu and rolled over the Gay street bridge. Rode through Market Sq. Lots of activity there. Headed back to the car in the Market Sq. parking garage. It was just plain HOT!!!
