Today I figured out a 105 mile ride to the Cumberland Gap at the border of Tennessee, Kentucky and Virginia. This will be something I'll do in spring 2009. SO today I just did a little "scouting" mission. It was really to get a feel for the shoulder along Maynardville Hwy. That was good. There was a yahoo that honked at me. It figures, people here just don't understand bikes. Man if it were a Tucson or L.A. on a Sunday, there would be Peletons flying by me. I really only saw one guy. One guy. Plus it was on a section of newly finished road with NO BIKE LANES. I was riding of the damn sidewalk so I wouldn't get killed. Ho hum.
